Blackburn Neuro 5.0 Cyclometer?
Hey,
Is anyone familiar with the Blackburn Neuro 5.0? It sounds like its pretty nice being wireless and having cadence and the heart rate strap included. Just wondering if anyone has used one? If so, is it possible to export routes from this or export the data into some program to view your results from rides? Also if you had/have one what are your thoughts on it? any recommendations for a different cyclometer?
It's a good piece of equipment. It's a hefty price but you get what you buy. I haven't experienced the one you have provided but i can assure you that you won't be disappointed. It has a 2.4GHz digital which gives off no interference. One thing i heard about this is that for every ride, you have to set and pick up the signal manually. The good thing about this is that if another rider next to you has a same or different wireless computer, you won't get any interference. Most wireless computers that don't have the 2.4GHz operation system will sometimes or most likely will pick up interference. And because you have the 2.4GHz Capability, you can now use the speed sensor attached to the rear wheel. Reason this helps is because you can use it on a trainer.
Be aware that you might have to be constantly on the look out for dead batteries for each sensor.
I believe Blackburn will give you a lifetime warranty.
I don't know much about the heart rate monitor or exporting routes to some other program. But the cadence is pretty useful, gives you a steady training exercise. Many riders don't use it besides training, so actually it's just a luxury to have.
